The Microsoft 98-382 exam is available to the English-speaking candidates in the English language. For the non-English speaking students, this test is conducted in French, German, Japanese, Spanish, Chinese (Traditional), Chinese (Simplified), Korean, and Portuguese (Brazil). There are about 40-60 questions in this exam. The questions of different types are presented in the test, including multiple choice, case studies, drag and drop, active screen, build list, best answer, mark review, hot area, and others. You need to score at least 700 points on a scale of 100-1000 to ace this exam with a high result. Microsoft 98-382 can be taken online after paying the fee of $127. As for the retake policy for this Microsoft exam, each person has 5 attempts to retake this certification test in one year. The Microsoft 98-382 exam is based on five major topics. Each section is divided into smaller subject areas so that the applicants will be evaluated on specific skills. The domains of this test are listed below:
- Program with Variables, Functions, & Data Types (25-30%):
The applicants need to demonstrate that they have the expertise in declaration and usage of variables of the primitive data types, including undefined, number, boolean, type checking functions, type of operator, double quote VS. single quote, string operations, formatting numbers, use strict, and converting between data types. Additionally, this section evaluates the students’ ability to debug and complete the function that accepts parameters and also returns a value. This includes reusable code, pass parameters, redefine variables, return values, value versus reference, and global versus local scope. It is also important to debug and complete code that uses built-in Math functions and objects. Other exam questions measure the ability of the learners to use and declare arrays, including multi-dimensional and single-dimensional arrays, iteration, search and sort an array, define an array, initialization, and use push, pop, unshift and shift methods.
- Implement and Analyze Loops and Decisions (20-25%):
This part includes the following areas: evaluating expressions that use comparison and logical operators, completing and debugging loops (continue, for, break, do, while), and completing and debugging decision statements (switch, else if, nested if).
- Interact with the Document Object Model (15-20%):
This domain evaluates the students’ competence in identifying and constructing the DOM (Document Object Model) tree (body, document, window, other HTML elements), completing and debugging code that locates, adds, and modifies HTML attributes and elements (getElementsByTagName, setAttribute, getEelemntsByClassName, createElement, getElementByld) as well as outputs to the HTML document, and identifying and handling HTML events (onclick, onkeydown, onmouseout, onload, onmouseover, and onchange).
- Interact with HTML Forms (5-10%):
Here the individuals have to show their ability to describe the foe submission process and debug and complete code that retrieves input from forms and sets from field values and performs input validation.
